All about
payment FAQs

Ancillary costs (energy prices)

Our ambition at THE FIZZ is to enable you to plan your costs well for your studies. That’s why we include the ancillary costs in your monthly all-in price in advance. We are committed to manage our ancillary costs as cost-efficient as possible.

Due to the current world situation, however, we may have to adjust your share of the additional costs during your rental period in the future. We guarantee that we will never make any profit out of such ancillary cost increases but these will only cover cost increases in current market.

Payment due date

The all-in price must be in our bank account no later than the 1st of the month, so we recommend that you always make payments a few days earlier (e.g. always on the 25th of the month).

Deposit

Deposit serves as security at the end of the lease in the event of rent receivables or acceptance costs. If there are no payment claims at the end of your stay, the deposit is returned to you in full amount within 2 months.

Bank details for making the payment

If you pay the all-in price via bank transfer, please use the following bank accounts depending on the currency of your apartment:

For CZK apartments:

Account owner: IC Prague Party s.r.o.

Account number: 523 001 3379/5500

IBAN: CZ3555000000005230013379

BIC/SWIFT: RZBCCZPP

Reference: Name + Tenancy ID + Apartment number

Bank: Raiffeisenbank a.s.

Bank address: Hvezdova 1716/2b, 14078 Prague 4, Czech Republic

For EUR apartments:

Account owner: IC Prague Party s.r.o.

Account number: 523 001 3475 / 5500

IBAN: CZ6255000000005230013475

BIC/SWIFT: RZBCCZPP

Reference: Name + Tenancy ID + Apartment number

Bank: Raiffeisenbank a.s.

Bank address: Hvezdova 1716/2b, 14078 Prague 4, Czech Republic

Payment via Inkaso direct debit

If you have a Czech bank account, your monthly all-in price can be debited automatically. You need to set up the Inkaso direct debit directly with your bank. Moreover, we need an Inkaso document filled and signed. Please contact the house management or the team via the contact form for further information.

Payment via foreign bank account

If you make a bank transfer from a foreign bank account, please note that our rental accounting might receive a different amount than the amount originally sent. This is due to the variable exchange rates and bank charges. If you decide to transfer a little higher amount to be on the safe side, rental accounting will allocate any overpayment to the following month’s all-in price.

Late payment

Reminder fee of 150 Kc will be charged if your payment is delayed. In case of a delay, you will receive 2 reminder emails from us.

According to the articles 6.6 in connection with 6.9 (a) in the accommodation agreement, we as lodging provider are allowed to terminate the contract with a one month notice if you are in delay of 5 days with a payment after receiving the 1st reminder.

Termination

If you want to terminate earlier, you can terminate the accommodation agreement with a period of notice of one month to the end of a month by finding a new lodger. For further information, please contact us via the contact form.

Move-out procedure

If you want to move out, you can arrange a move-out appointment with the house management. Please note, that moving out doesn’t affect the duration of the accommodation agreement which continues until the concluded date.

Note: The loss of the mailbox key will be fined with 500 CZK.

Wifi, internet connection and TV

Wifi in the community areas

Wifi is available in all THE FIZZ community areas. Please connect to the network “THE FIZZ Prag”. You will find the password at the reception.

Internet in your apartment

Each apartment is equipped with its own router enabling you to access the internet.

Turn on the router. The wireless network shows up on the device with the name that appears on the sticker on your router. Enter the password that is also on the sticker. Now you can start surfing!

In case of problems with the internet connection please write an e-mail to: helpdesk.prague@the-fizz.com.

Watching TV in your apartment

You can connect your own TV via TV cable to the right socket of your LAN socket on the wall.

Note: In the Czech Republic, each household pays a monthly licence fee depending on the receivers used. Registration is required for this. You can register within 14 days after your move-in. After that, a penalty from the Czech Radio and Television broadcasters will be due. You can register in two ways:

Via Mail

You can register your TV and radio via Czech Post. Payment can be made through SIPO (If you have registered at the Czech Post and you are paying with SIPO).

Online

Alternatively, you can go online (for radio at https://zis-ext.rozhlas.cz/ and for TV at https://tvp.ceskatelevize.cz/) and pay the fees by bank transfer. You will need to provide identification and payment details in the application.

Here you can find all information about the licence fee (in Czech).

Washing and drying

The use of washing machines and dryers is subject to a charge (90 CZK per washing / 75 CZK per drying). You can pay without cash by debit or credit card, Google Pay or Apple Pay directly at the washing machine. There is an automatic dosage of the washing detergent and it cannot switched off.

Instructions for the washing machines and dryers can be found in the laundry room on the ground floor.

A few ground rules:

  • Clear out the washer and dryer promptly so the next occupant can use the machines.
  • You can use your own drying rack or the existing public drying racks to dry your clothes. Use the drying room provided for this purpose only; drying laundry in the apartment is not allowed.
  • Please clean the fluff screens of the dryer when you are done!

Community kitchen and public areas

In your house there are three rooftop terraces, an inner courtyard, a sky lounge with kitchen, and several community areas, like study rooms, movie lounge and gaming areas, that can be used by everyone. Please treat the furniture with care and attention – just as you would like things to be in your own home. There are only a few points to consider:

  • Leave the areas you use clean and tidy. Wash used dishes, wipe down the hotplates, tidy up the seating areas and put rubbish in the bin.
  • Clean the public barbecue station after your use.
  • If you have moved furniture or other objects, return them to where you took them from.
  • Take special care of your roommates’ property.

In the community areas the night silence is from 22:00 to 07:00. In the time between 22:00 and midnight, designated rooms may still be used to stay at room volume until 24:00 as long as no other resident is disturbed. Inner Courtyard and the terraces are closed for security reasons between 22:00 pm and 06:00 am.

Safety and security

You are safe and secure with us: All entrances are equipped with an electronic door locking system by Salto.

With your move-in, you’ve got one key card and one chip. We advise you to leave the key card in your room and use it as spare access to the building. In case of loss or any damages of your key outside the office hours, please call the hotline of the Technical Emergency Support.

The building entrances are closed outside office hours. In addition, all community areas are video monitored. You can get a second Salto chip for 700 CZK. The loss of the Salto chip also costs 700 CZK.

There are smoke detectors in all areas and in the apartments. Smoking in the apartments is strictly prohibited and will be fined 3.000 CZK.

In case of malfunction/contamination or battery change indicator, the House Technician must be informed. Costs arising from a false alarm caused by your own fault are borne by the lodger.

Mobility and parking

Metro and tram are only a few minutes’ walk away – fantastic! But Prague is also great to explore by bike. Your bike is safe and dry on our bicycle parking spaces in the basement. Daily parking for cars is available 24/7 at 300 CZK/night and is payable by CC at the reception.

Drivers can also rent a parking space at THE FIZZ on a monthly basis. For further information please contact the house management or the team via the contact form.

All about
moving out

New lodger

You may terminate your apartment within four weeks to the end of the month, provided that a suitable new lodger you have named concludes a new accommodation agreement with THE FIZZ that directly follows on from your accommodation agreement. The accommodation agreement of your new lodger is issued for a limited period of time, until 31.01. or 31.08. of a year and not exceeding 12 months.

Sublodger

In order to sublet your apartment, you will need the written confirmation of your lodging provider in advance.

Please contact your House Manager or the Customer Service Team for this.

Preliminary inspection

A preliminary inspection of your apartment can save a lot of money and is very important! A THE FIZZ employee will give you tips on how to avoid repair and cleaning costs when you move out. You can make an appointment with your House Manager during opening hours at least one week before your final move-out.

You will receive all price lists for cleaning, repairs and other rental matters from your House Manager. Our House team will advise you as well if the room needs to be painted before the move-out. They will help you schedule the painting of your apartment. To avoid further costs never paint apartment by yourself.

Liability Insurance needs to be closed before move-in to protect you before any additional costs that can arise in case of any apartment incident damages.

Here, you’ll find even more tips from a FIZZie!

General tips
for living

Apartment registration

In Czech Republic, everyone is obliged to register their place of residence. We want to make this process as easy as possible: You simply need to fill in the move-in form on your arrival day, provided by the reception of THE FIZZ. We will handle the rest and register you.

Behavior in case of fire

1. Report fire

Call the fire brigade immediately on 150 and state the following points:

  • Location of the building (name, street, number, city)
  • Where’s the fire in the building?
  • What’s burning?
  • Are third parties in danger?
  • Are there any persons injured?
  • Provide you own name and mobile number for inquiries.

2. Get to safety

Leave the building immediately via the nearest free emergency exit to the meeting point in front of the main entrance.

Extinguish grease fire

Fat explosion is one of the most common causes of a serious fire in the kitchen. It occurs when you try to extinguish the grease fire with water. A fat explosion causes the entire kitchen to catch fire within a few seconds.

Therefore, the top priority is: Never extinguish a grease fire with water.

  • Take a large pot lid and throw it quickly onto the pot or pan.
  • Switch off the stove immediately. To do this, do not go so close to the stove, but simply take out the fuse for the entire kitchen (the fuse box is located near the entrance).
  • Be sure to leave the lid on the pot until it has cooled down completely. If you take the lid off the pot too soon, the fat will reignite.

Environmental Awareness, Sustainability & Energy saving

We strive for sustainability and intelligent use of resources. Starting with the paperless booking process and digital information like this Move Information, to waste separation and the preference for biodegradable resources. With a few simple measures everyone can make a contribution – for the sake of the environment:

  • Save water by turning off the water while showering or brushing your teeth.
  • For airing, open the window completely for several minutes rather than having a window that is constantly tilted.
  • Turn off the heating when airing, during the night and when you leave your apartment, thereby saving energy.
  • Make sure that the lights and all electrical appliances (including the stove) are switched off when you leave the apartment.
  • Disconnect all electrical appliances from the power supply if you are going away for a long time. Some appliances also consume energy in standby mode.
  • Clean out your fridge regularly, dispose of old food and defrost your freezer. Too much ice in the freezer prevents the optimal freezing process!
  • Keep the drain in the sink and shower clean so that the water can drain freely.
  • Clean the ceramic hob in the kitchen, especially of burnt-on food (we recommend a ceramic field scraper). This way the heat will be distributed evenly and the cooking surface works perfectly.
  • Separate your waste into plastic (packaging), paper/cardboard, organic (kitchen waste), and household waste.

Further tips on how to live climate and budget friendly can be found here.

Cleaning and tidiness

Kitchen counter

  • Light dirt is best removed with warm water, detergent (e.g. washing-up liquid, scouring milk) and a cloth, sponge or brush. For larger stains, allow the agent to work in first, then wipe off.
  • Use a cutting board to avoid scratching the surface.
  • Use a coaster if you want to put down hot pots, pans or trays.
  • Avoid moisture (e.g. standing water, damp sponge) in the joints, otherwise mould will grow there. Also watch out for steam above the stove or kettle.

Induction hob

  • To ensure that the hob remains well-maintained and functional for a long time, it should be cleaned after each cooking session.
  • Always lift the cookware when moving it to avoid scratching the surface.
  • If objects made of plastic or food containing sugar accidentally melt on the hot induction surface, push them away immediately with a cleaning scraper on the hot cooking zone. This prevents surface damage.
  • Clean the cooled down cooking zone with a metal ceramic hob scraper or a special cleaning sponge (ask your House Manager for tips) and then wipe again with a damp cloth.

Drain

Floor

  • Keep the floor clean by vacuuming regularly (vacuum cleaners can be borrowed free of charge at the reception).
  • Once a week, wipe off light dirt with a cloth or rag. If the dirt sticks to the floor, add a little mild detergent (e.g. all-purpose cleaner) to the cleaning water.
  • Always lift and move furniture, do not pull or push it across the floor.
  • Please do not use any waxes, varnishes, soft soaps containing solvents, linseed oil or aggressive (scouring) agents or scrubbing brushes that could damage the floor.

Waste separation

Black bin

  • All waste that cannot be disposed of in any of the other bins due to contamination or mixing (e.g. soiled food packaging)
  • Hygiene articles (handkerchiefs, sanitary towels, cotton balls)
  • Dirt, dust & ashes
  • Cigarette butts
  • Kitchen towels, dishcloths and cleaning cloths
  • Vacuum cleaner bags
  • Drinking glasses, porcelain, ceramics, all shards (also mirrors)

Yellow bin

  • Plastic (foils, cups, polystyrene)
  • Foamed plastics (fruit and vegetable packaging)

Blue bin

  • Paper and cardboard – without coating and unsoiled (tip: greasy pizza boxes belong in the residual waste)
  • Cardboards and cardboard boxes
  • Newspapers, magazines, catalogues
  • Books and booklets

Bottle bank

  • Bottles and jars (e.g. jam jars) sorted by colour

Must be disposed of separately:

  • Electrical appliances/scrap: recycling yards, large appliances, also bulky waste
  • Batteries: special collection containers in supermarkets and public buildings
  • Hazardous waste/pollutants such as paints, varnishes, sprays etc.: pollutant mobile

Please contact your House Manager in these special cases.
