- In what period will the apartments be upgraded? When they will be ready?
The upgrade of apartments will take place during July and August, with expected deadline for all apartments at the end of August. Each week, a certain block of apartments will be renovated during the day. (up to 20 apartments per day – ~ one floor per week)
- How will I be informed when my apartment will be upgraded and how long it will take?
You will receive a separate email with the exact date your apartment will be upgraded and other information about the process. We work from floor to floor week after week. The upgrade takes place between 8am and 6pm. Some apartments might be finished in 4 hours, some up to 8 hours. However, you can move back to your apartment on the same day.
- What happens if I’m out of town when my apartment upgrade is scheduled?
You have the option to give us – THE FIZZ – a power of attorney, through which you will allow us to enter your apartment even in your absence. Or you can empower a third person (e.g. a friend) to represent you in the process.
- Where can I get a power of attorney?
You can sign the power of attorney at the reception when you pick up your storage boxes.
- What happens if I don’t agree to the renovation of my apartment?
According to your rental agreement, we are allowed to make improvements in your apartment. If you deny us access, you must compensate us for the effort that arises from this.
- How do I need to prepare my apartment in advance for the upgrade?
You need to empty the top of your bed (take out all bedding and pillows from your bed). The bedsteads can remain filled but they will be opened by us.
You need to empty the walls above the bed and above the heating so that we can install the picture rail system.
In standard FIZZ apartments you need to clean and empty the kitchen countertop. The fridge will be opened for about half an hour as it needs to be pulled out to get access to the kitchen countertop, but you do not need to empty it. Please also empty the space under the sink.
You don’t need to empty any cabinets, not even that one above the kitchen. Please also empty your desk chair.
In addition to that, in the FIZZ+ apartment you also have to empty the space next to the heater/under the TV, so there is enough space for the desk & lounge furniture.
