Get to know our FIZZie Raman and learn what living at THE FIZZ Utrecht would be like!
Our student accommodation THE FIZZ Utrecht is hard to miss since it is the highest building in the district of Overvecht. With more than 600 single and double apartments and several outdoor areas, it offers plenty of space. One of the terraces even have an outdoor fitness park. Of course, there is also an indoor fitness studio along with study areas and community spaces.
But what is really special of THE FIZZ Utrecht is sustainable living. In 2021, it won the Coliving Award under the category “Green Living in The Cube”. To get an idea of what it’s like living in these award-winning house, Raman tells us a bit about his THE FIZZ experience in Utrecht!
Raman is currently pursuing a bachelor’s in economics and business economics at Utrecht University. He grew up in Finland and has roots in Punjab in north India. For him, the international surroundings are what makes THE FIZZ special to him:
Raman: The opportunities to interact with so many people from all around the world, make me happy.
Besides your apartment and your favourite spot, there’s a lot more to discover. We have already talked about the outside areas but there are community areas with billiard and table tennis spaces, places to study and the fitness studio. Not to mention the practical rooms like the laundry area or the bicycle storage. How long did it take you to get to know the building? Have you ever accidentally tried to unlock the wrong apartment door since there are so many?
Raman: During my moving-in process, THE FIZZ team showed me around the building pretty well, hence I got familiar quite soon with the building. Never tried to unlock the wrong apartment door.
You probably really had one of the best move-in processes you could have found in Utrecht. THE FIZZ house there was lately nominated for the GSL Award for the best Moving-in experience.
For the end, we’re going to go with a classic question: What is a life lesson that you have learned in your time at THE FIZZ?
Raman: During my stay at THE FIZZ, I learned that generosity and kindness often lead to positive connections with others in the building.
I like the way you phrased that “generosity and kindness often lead to positive connections”, sounds like something Gandalf might say, what a perfect ending.
Thank you, Raman, for telling us a bit about your THE FIZZ experience!
