Admission fee

Additionally, upfront payments for renewals are significantly lower than before. For you, it means that if you conclude your new contract for the same apartment, you have to pay the reduced ‘Admission fee’ (the old ‘Service fee’), which is only 10 €/250 CZK instead of maximum 130 €/3250 CZK.

Currency change

Starting from March 2022, each apartment in THE FIZZ Prague is available to book in either Czech crowns or in Euros.

For you, it means that your current apartment might have been switched to Euro currency and your new contract therefore will be in Euros. This info will be communicated to you by our sales team during the renewal process.

  • How can I get a personal price offer for renewal?

Please fill out the form above and our sales team will send you your personal price offer which is dependent on your length of stay and the time you book your apartment.

  • Until when can I conclude my new contract and receive the special price offer?

You can receive your special personal price offer if you conclude your new accommodation agreement until the 20th of April 2022. In order to receive it, please fill out the form above.

Booking

  • Do I need to complete the new booking, or will you adjust my current lease?  

Yes, we would need to make the new booking since the current accommodation agreement has been done for specific date & period. The new booking will be done by our sales team after you have agreed to your personal price offer.

  • For how long may I extend?

You may conclude your new accommodation agreement for 5-6 or 12 months. The minimum booking period depends also on the apartment type. The sooner you book and longer you stay, the better price offer you get!

  • May I change the apartment?  

It depends on the availability of the apartments. If there is an available option, the change of the apartment is possible. Please note that there will be a regular admission fee in such case:

    • 40 € / 1000 CZK for 12 month stays
    • 130 € / 3250 CZK for 5-6 month stays
  • May I stay in the same apartment?

Yes, you may stay in the same apartment if you conclude your new accommodation agreement before the 20th of April 2022. From the 20th of April 2022, we will already start re-letting the apartment for the winter semester and can no longer guarantee that your current apartment will still be available for renewal.

  • What documents should I provide for a renewal? 

In order to conclude your new accommodation agreement, we need to receive a certificate of enrolment/employment (in case you are a young professional) and liability insurance.

  • Can I stay in my apartment if I conclude the new contract after the 20th of April 2022?   

It depends on the availability. If your apartment is still available, of course, we will be happy to offer it to you. However, you will no longer be eligible for personal renewal offer and will have to pay the ‘All-in’ price listed online. 

  • What can I do if I want to renew later, and my apartment is no longer available anymore? 

If your apartment is no longer available, we will try to find another apartment for you (upon availability). 

  • In which cases I might not be able to conclude my new contract?

You will not be able to conclude your new accommodation agreement if you still have open payments from your current contract. Please complete this step first to be able to conclude your new accommodation agreement.

Payments & contract

  • Will my rent stay the same if I conclude my new contract?  

All the renewals are carried out according to our new pricing concept, so please fill out the form above in order to get your personal price offer, the rent may be different. 

  • Do I have to pay the service fee again?  

With our new pricing concept, a reduced admission fee (old ‘service fee’) is requested in advance if the extension takes place for the same apartment. The reduced admission fee is only 10 €/250 CZK instead of maximum 130 €/3250 CZK.

Service fee is now included in the monthly ‘All-in’ price (10€/250 CZK per month). If you wish to renew your contract in a different apartment, then the regular admission fee will apply:

    • 40 € / 1000 CZK for 12 month stays
    • 130 € / 3250 CZK for 5-6 month stays
  • What happens with my deposit?

Your deposit will be automatically transferred to your new accommodation agreement.
Depending on the amount of your current deposit, you might need to pay up the difference between your old and new deposit, or if your old deposit is higher as the new one, we will refund you the difference, once your new accommodation agreement starts.

If your new deposit should be paid in €, we will exchange your current deposit from CZK to EUR (with the daily exchange rate). Once it is done, we will inform you how much is the difference which you need to transfer to us. If this is your case, you would get more information from our sales team during your booking process.

  • Should I transfer the first month upfront now, to receive confirmation of my booking?  

You need to transfer the first month rent for the new accommodation agreement at least 30 days before the new accommodation agreement starts.

  • Can I cancel/withdraw from my contract after I have concluded a new one  if my plans change? 

After you have concluded your new accommodation agreement, you may no longer withdraw from the accommodation agreement.

  • Which ‘All-in’ price do I receive if I conclude my new contract after the promotion period is over?  

It depends on the period you conclude your new accommodation agreement and the length of your stay, for more info please contact our sales team at sales.czechrepublic@the-fizz.com.

Currency change

  • What does this currency change mean?

Starting from March 2022 the apartments in THE FIZZ Prague are offered either in Czech crowns or in Euros. Each apartment has a preassigned currency (CZK or EUR) in which it can be booked. It is not possible to choose other currency than the one that is already assigned to the apartment.

  • What does it mean for me to have a contract in EUR? Or in CZK?

If you get an accommodation agreement in EUR, it means that all costs related to your accommodation agreement will be shown in EUR and must be paid in EUR. You can still make a transaction from another currency, but please be aware that the end amount will be calculated by the bank in EUR and bank fees might apply. Same process applies also for CZK contracts.

  • Can I choose the currency of my booking?

Your apartment already has a preassigned currency, and therefore you cannot choose it. The new accommodation agreement will be issued directly in that currency which has been assigned to your apartment.

  • What will happen with my current contract? Will the currency also change?

The current accommodation agreement will still keep the CZK currency that you had at the moment of signing it. So, the currency will not change.

The currency will change to EUR only with the new accommodation agreement and only in case your apartment has a preassigned currency of EUR.

  • Can it happen that now I have a CZK contract, but next year, in 2023 the currency might change?

Yes, actually in the next two years all apartments will be offered only in EUR. At this moment there is only a part of apartments in EUR and another part in CZK, but in the future all apartments will be offered only in EUR.

  • What happens if I cannot pay in a certain currency? 

We strongly suggest you to check all the solutions to pay in the currency of your apartment. Normally, there shall be no problems for banks or for wire transfers to be done in different currency. In the worst case, if you still cannot pay in EUR, respectively in CZK, you can make a swap to an apartment with the desired currency. Please be aware that apartment swap fees apply and also that the number of apartment swaps for winter semester is limited.

  • Do extra fees apply if I need to pay in a certain currency? 

If you pay directly from a currency in the same currency, normally no exchange fees apply. However, if you pay from another currency, the bank might apply conversion fees and transaction fees. For further details please contact your bank.

  • How is ‘All-in’ price calculated? Does the daily exchange rate apply?

The amounts for both EUR and CZK accommodation agreement are already preestablished. So, exchange rate is not applied. Amounts in EUR and CZK are equivalent to each other.

  •  Can I move to an apartment with different currency?

An apartment swap is possible, but for winter semester the number of swaps will be limited. Also please be aware that apartment swap fees will apply, according to the standard process.

  • Can I use SEPA for EUR payments?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to use SEPA Form for EUR payments. The payments need to be done through wire transfer.

  • Will my rent in EUR change if the exchange rate will fluctuate and change during my booking period?

Your monthly rent in EUR will not change based on the daily exchange rate. It is a fixed amount and will be valid for the whole booking period.
